Al Overstreet Passed Away - Tuesday, January 19, 2010
Raymond Alton Overstreet, age 75, of Smyrna, passed away on January 17, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a native of Elmwood, TN and a chartered member of Joywood Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired from Bridgestone.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Connie Overstreet; brothers, Louis Overstreet, John Overstreet and Claude Overstreet; and sister, Alma Goad. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Overstreet of Smyrna; daughters, Ruby Aguiler of Texas, Mona Overstreet of Murfreesboro and Lynn Howell of Smyrna; sons, Louis Langley of LaVergne and Brian Overstreet of Smyrna; brother, Edwin Overstreet of Gallatin; sisters, Ruby Allison of Lebanon and Sybil Miller of Florida; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
A chapel service for Al will be held at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Clark and the Rev. Kenny Butcher officiating. A graveside service for Al will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Elmwood, TN. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 615-893-2422. www.jenningsandayers.com.
