Rapid Response Action Call - Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Take a Minute and Take a Stand

On Saturday, August 11, thousands of union members and our community allies will gather in Philadelphia to speak out on the importance of good jobs and the need for a “Second Bill of Rights” to ensure economic freedom for all. It is about ensuring a better future, investing in ourselves and in our nation. Read the Second Bill of Rights HERE.
Wherever you are, we are asking you
to sign on and show your support
for a Second Bill of Rights!

Click
HERE to sign.

Can you gather signatures in your workplace? Click
HERE for a printable form. Forms can be faxed back to Rapid Response at 412-562-2266. Please return all forms by mid-August. The forms will be compiled and delivered at both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions.
If you are interested in making the trip to Philadelphia, check out the details on the Workers Stand for America website at www.workersstandforamerica.com. Also, make sure to let your District office know if you are attending. For those from Pennsylvania and neighboring states, there may be a bus coming from your area or other transportation arrangements that might be helpful as you make your plans.
Why Philadelphia? We will be in Philadelphia because that is where the words “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” changed the world. It is where the Bill of Rights, the most practical enumeration of fundamental human values, was adopted. And, we will be in Philadelphia because it is time for a second Bill of Rights, inspired by President Franklin Roosevelt’s 1944 proposed economic Bill of Rights.

Let’s keep standing up for good jobs, fighting to bring jobs home and working for a better economic future for all!
