VOTE!!!!! - Thursday, October 21, 2010
October 22, 2010 Dear Brothers and Sisters: One of the greatest privileges we enjoy as Americans is the right to vote and elect those who make our laws. It not only is a right, it is a privilege. Our local union and the AFL-CIO (the umbrella organization for all Unions) go to great lengths to identify, interview and endorse candidates who will represent our interest as working families in the best possible way in local, state and national elections. We must stand together to elect candidates who will make laws that protect workers and their families in areas such as workers compensation, unemployment compensation, safety and health protection, and creating jobs. We need someone who will work with both political parties to solve important issues instead of blaming the other party. The blame game has gone on far too long. On the back of this letter is a list of endorsed candidates. These candidates need your vote. Please take the time to vote during the early voting period, October 13 through October 28. If you are not sure where you need to vote you can call the Tennessee AFL-CIO office at 615-269-7111 or go online at www.state.tn.us/sos/election/.
