Gerard of the United Steelworkers (USW) today cited a Washington Post report on a new study released by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) that showed employment in U.S manufacturing was nearly 30 percent lower than it otherwise would have been as a result of China’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001.

For the last two weeks, all across the country, Steelworkers have been making their voices heard by hosting press events, rallies, marching in parades and turning up the heat on their legislators to Bring Jobs Home. Because of the success of these efforts, the Senate wants to slightly delay the vote on the Bring Jobs Home Act in order to allow us more time to keep up our good work. We need to keep the pressure on!
